You are now approaching United States Geological Survey (the building with the blue band). USGS represents a major triumph of the Park in securing a U.S. Federal Laboratory that does a significant amount of collaborative work with RPI researchers. You will notice on your right is a small weather station which illustrates this point. USGS provided the weather instrumentation, a class of students at RPI assembled it, and it is now utilized as a weather station with the intent of posting the weather data on the Internet. The USGS facility is devoted to water resources and contains a sophisticated laboratory.
